Meet Debbie

Hello. . .

I’m Debbie…………..a woman of faith, mom, grandma, speaker, musician, Air Force wife for 23 years, women’s ministry participant for 25 years, and widow.  Currently I am pursuing God’s calling to help widows & widowers with the Spouse Survivor Guide.

Getting from there to here. . .

When my life was shattered April 2014,  I coasted for about a year.  Early 2015 the dream began for the Guide.  As with most things, it happens one tiny step at a time..  I gathered the information and waited for a solid prompting from God.  This needed to be His idea, not mine.

The Calling. . .

When we pray for direction and guidance, God is faithful.  Beginning in 2015, and continuing, God places people in my life with unique expertise and vision. Though it seems random at times, each meeting or conversation has been perfectly timed.  God speaks through people, music, devotions, sermons, bible studies and family.  It has become clear – I have a bona fide calling to minister to widows/widowers through the Guide, as well as to those I meet in person.  There is an undeniable connection between those of us who have experienced such great loss.

Where Am I Going? ? ?

Answer – I have absolutely no idea.  Honestly, I never expected to have a website. Previously I had been meeting with local funeral directors, clergy and hospice – my personal first responders after Tracy’s death.  The Guide is currently in it’s 3rd printing.  Where is this going? Again – I have no idea. This has always been God’s deal, not mine.

The Adventure. . .

Let the adventure begin!  I’m taking a leap of faith.  Here’s hoping the Guide can help countless people when they lose a spouse.  If you have someone in your life who could use this resource,  let me encourage you to get one – actually with cancer taking so many, it might be good to have a few to have on hand……………sad to even type that………………cancer has touched all of us in one way or another.
